World War 1 veterans. Did you know that there are just 5 World War 1 veterans left alive? Pretty amazing, huh?

I know that because number 6 just died.

Victoria's Secret has released pirate bikinis.

I saw this in an ad on the news, and I thought "I'm suprised nobody thought of this earlier, what with the Pirates of the Caribbean going on"

Plus, there is no end to the "Treasure Chest" and "Plundered Booty" comments that can be made! Genius!

The Legend of Zelda

I was impressed with the quality of animation in the Legend of Zelda. If you don't remember, Zelda was part of the Super Mario Brothers Super Show. Usually, the SMB's would show a SMB cartoon, but on Fridays, you got the Legend of Zelda.. and it's a good trade, because the cartoon is not half bad.

Those of you who know what the Super Mario Brothers Super Show is also remember Link's trademark line: "Well excuuuuuse me, princess" which he says constantly. Usually he only says it once na episode, but there is one episode where he busts loose with it 4 times, pegging the annoying meter.

The 20 odd episodes in the Legend of Zelda DVD contain exactly 4 plots: Gannon attempts to steal triforce, Gannon attempts to kidnap zelda, Gannon attempts to kidnap Zelda and blackmail the triforce, and Gannon's minions revolt against him.

Despite the lack of variety, the series is pretty fun. They're meant to be weekly, so if you watch them all in succession, you get hit by how similar they all are.

Still worth a watch, especially if you have kids.

Captain N: The Game Master
Submitted Thursday, March 29, 2007 - 2:24:21 PM by Klaitu

Do you remember this little gem? I sure do! The powerglove sucks 15 year old Kevin Keene through the ultimate warp zone (his TV) into videoland, a cartoon world full of 1980's NES licenses!

Captain N comes equipped with a light zapper and a power pad belt buckle, which is pretty freakin neat.. for a 15 year old.

Captain N was taken to video land, of course, because Mother Brain is trying to conquer it.. and she's about to succeed because the good guys are composed of losers like Simon Belmont and Kid Icarus.

Though to be fair, Mother Brain doesn't exactly have a devastating evil force in the form of Eggplant Wizard and King Hippo.

Captain N is a great concept.. it was Kingdom Hearts before Kingdom Hearts was around. If you've got kids, or just want to relive the old days, check out Captain N, he's on DVD now.

I highly recommend the special features bios, they are hilarious.

Children of Men

Here's an odd little world. For some mysterious reason, the human race became unable to produce children. Conception doesn't happen. The birth rate declined gradually, and then it stopped. The youngest person on the planet is 18 years old.

The human race has freaked out over all this, and nobody can figure out why the ladies can't get knocked up anymore. Countries nuke each other, leaving England mysteriously untouched. Now England has special security measures and deports non-english people.

This is the story of an ordinary guy who works in an office who just happens to bump into a woman who managed to become pregnant. Now he's got to get her out of england. She's a foreigner, after all.

Compelling story, some pretty good cinematography. Alright music. Great acting. It's a pretty good little movie that makes you think. It doesnt, however, resolve the issues of the film (Why is everyone barren?)

I recommend you check it out!

Overall Score: 8 of 10

Windows Vista - The Saga
Submitted Tuesday, March 27, 2007 - 3:40:51 PM by Klaitu

So, I decided to take the plungs, upgrade myself to Windows Vista. Why? Well, I got bored. I wish I could say that I was totally sold on Vista beforehand, and that I "must have" it, but really.. I just wanted to fancy up my computer.

Step 1: Obtain neccessary parts. I needed the Vista software, that much was a must.. and I figured while I was out I would get myself a bonzer hard drive and a little more memory. I set a budget of $300 for all these things.

My dad suggested that they might have all this stuff for cheap at Sam's Club. Now, I don't usually go there because I'm not a member (and I dont need a 50 gallon drum of peanut butter). My parents, however are.

So I go to Sam's Club with my mom in tow to do the member thing. I find the neccessary parts, and proceed to the checkout, where I received a suprise! Sam's Club doesn't take Visa.

Visa of all things! Everyone has a visa card. Sam's Club takes Discover card only. Why? Nobody knows! Nobody has a Discover card!

It did, however, provide me with ample opportunity to ridicule a Sam's Club manager for their poor policy. I remember the words like it was yesterday (It was yesterday):

"So, I'm here, I want to pay you 300 bucks for all this stuff. I've got the money, it's just that sam's wont take it? That's a silly policy, don't you think, because now You've got to have someone restock this stuff, and I'll pay one of your competitors for the exact same items. Maybe you should speak to your boss about not taking money from customers."

The manager really didn't have anything interesting to say, except that "Its sam's club policy" to which I responded "I know, and I know you can't change it, but it's a stupid policy"

So, I went to Best Buy and bought a little bit better items, which cost me 10 bucks more than Sam's Club would have.

Step 2: Install everything. I tried the memory first, it was ddr2 RAM when I needed just DDR ram. I tried the hard drive. It was serial ATA instead of IDE. Fortunately, Windows Vista installed without complaint.

Step 3: Return improper crap. So, I had to go back to best buy today to exchange my crap. It's no wonder I couldn't find a good hard drive. Best buy only had external USB drives and internal notebook drives. They don't carry desktop drives anymore.. at all apparently. They did, however have desktop memory in the DDR flavor. So I dropped the drive and picked up an extra gig of ram instead.

This time it worked.

Windows Vista itself is pretty shiny, it's got a well-polished user interface. in some cases they "made things easier" (which means that they just made things harder). In a nutshell, Vista is exactly like XP with a fancy user interface.

If you haven't upgraded, there is no rush. If you've got the opportunity to do it, go ahead, it's neat. It's by no means neccessary at this point.

Vista does have some tricks under the hood though. I have a Soundblaster Audigy soundcard. Vista didn't have a driver for it, so it went online, found the driver, installed it, and then told me that it went ahead and took care of it for me. I checked, and it did it right.

So, Windows Vista? Not the scary thing you might think!

WATCH IT! Critics panned it, but it's pretty good. nice characters. nice music. No twist ending.

Rent it. It's great for a fighting game, but doesnt have much replay value. very short game. better with multiple humans.. no online component.

Ender's Game

Read it! If you haven't already!

flOw

Buy it! For 7 bucks, it packs a wallop!

Thats all I got for now!
