IS it here? Finally? My long-anticipated Christmas Vacation? The one I applied for way back in freaking AUGUST?

Yes, yes it is! Christmas vacation ROCKS, and it just goes to prove that Christmas is indeed the most wonderful time of the year!

After I get done rolling around on the ground giggling and drooling, I plan to do some Christmas shopping and hang out with some folks I never get to hang out with because I'm always freaking working.

I also will enjoying sleeping, waking, and eating like a normal human being, and not a robot.

So, Happy Holidays y'all! drop me a line!

Star Trek: Legacy

Oh, don't fear, this picture is just the 360 version, I actually have the PC version, but good luck finding the box art for that. It's not so easy.

Star Trek nerds everywhere have been waiting through the drought for a good Star Trek game. Could this be the one?

Well, it could be, but it's not. It's alright. It plays something like a 3rd person perspective Bridge Commander. It's not particularly difficult to beat, and the game is short.. really short. Beat-it-in-a-day short.

On the bright side, the game looks and sounds great! Starships are rendered in the latest graphics Directx 9 has to offer. It also features the voices of all 5 Star Trek captains, although some of them have more lines than others. Janeway has like 12 lines the entire game (though that could be a good thing).

The story is pretty good, but the dialogue needs work. Sure, I'm listening to Kirk's voice, but Kirk wouldnt say this stuff.

Anyway, Legacy is pretty good if you don't expect too much out of it.

Overall Score: 7 of 10

Nintendo DS Lite vs PSP

It had to happen, a head to head showdown! Who will prove victorious?

Well, in this situation, it's not so much a win/lose situation, both handhelds have something to offer!

I got my brand new Nintendo DS Lite just recently with Final Fantasy 3, courtesy of my sweetie cakes. I got the white model, which is apparently designed to look just like the Wii.

The DS is pretty light and smooth to the touch. It feels a bit fragile, and makes you think "I am holding a toy". The screens are sharp and vibrant with great color, and the sound is remarkably clear.

The PSP by comparison is relatively heavy. It's larger and has a textured touch. Aside from the texturing, the PSP is partly made out of metal. The screen on the PSP is a thing of wonder, the ones on the DS aren't bad, but the PSP blows them away. DS has the edge on sound. PSP sound is emitted by tiny speakers on the bottom, and they never quite get loud enough.

The PSP has 2 shoulder buttons, 4 input buttons, a D-pad, and an analog stick, as well as start and select.

The DS is similar with 2 shoulders, 4 inputs, a d-pad, touch screen and start and select.

The DS has a unique clamshell design which will protect both screens while in your pocket. The PSP lacks this design, its big, beautiful screen is more prone to scratching.

Aside from games, the PSP has Wi-Fi access, RSS feed interpretation for podcasts, plays videos, music and can display photos, and has a removeable memory stick. It even has a browser.

The DS has the capability for Wi-Fi, but the capability is not used. The User Inferface on the system itself is clumsy and poorly designed, but workable. The DS doesn't have that many options.

Of course, everyone buys a gaming system to play games, and that's where the DS rules the roost. The PSP comes out with games that are essentially console games shrunk down onto a portable. The DS instead has quick, easy games that are designed to be portable. The DS wins hands down on the appropriateness of their titles.

What's the verdict? If you want an Ipod that's better than an Ipod.. and also plays games, get the Sony PSP. If you want the latest version of Game Boy, get a DS. Either way, you won't be disappointed!

Overall Score on the DS: 8 of 10

The Latest Blog Post

Hey Folks, It's been awhile! I've been busy, you know. That's the kind of thing that happens when you get supremely busy.

What new is going on? Not much, still working my fingers to the bone for Hertz, and now trying to get on with Dell. Dell pays better, and from what I hear, sucks less.

I've got a lot of stuff I've been wanting to write, and I should find time to do it soon. I'm presently on a 4 day weekend, and next week is my 10 day vacation.

All I have to say is that this is the most well earned vacation anyone ever.. earned.

Anyways, more later, stay tuned!
