Utilities: We in the RKR use several programs to keep in touch with one another outside the game. It makes it much easier for us to schedule events and lets you get to know your guildmates better.
Mirabilis ICQ Is probably the internet's most popular instant-messaging utility. We use ICQ to announce new events, and to communicate with one another on a person-to-person basis. If you need help setting up ICQ, feel free to ask a guildmate.
mIRC is a very popular IRC client that we use for group communication outside the game. IRC allows us to all get together in the same chat room and have a full-fledged conversation with everyone at the same time. For help setting up mIRC, check out our mIRC setup instructions. Servers you can use include irc.glowfish.de, irc2.frws.com or stratics.frws.com. There are two RKR rooms you can access from these Stratics servers. The first is the public channel #RKB (do /join #rkb once you are connected) and the private RKR channel, #redemption. You can obtain the password for this channel from someone in the guild.
Trillian is a clever program that can handle both IRC and ICQ for you simultaneously. Trillian can also access AIM, MSN, and Yahoo all with the same program. This is definately the way to go if you are one of those folks who enjoy using multiple IM programs.
Tugsoft UOAssist allows you to do things in UO that you would not ordinarily be able to do. You can set up Arm and Disarm Macros, dress and undress macros, even "apply bandage" and "drink cure potion" macros. It's definately a must-have, but unfortunately it costs 15 dollars. There is a free trial you can try though.
UO Automap works best in conjunction with UOAssist, but it will also function all by itself. Automap lets you track your character on a world map, zoom in, zoom out, and it will direct you to any destination you like. It also means you will never need a sextant ever again. It also has an online utility that lets you track your friends when they are logged into the same UOAM server as you are.
