Origins

I was born of noble parents in Malas. Although I somewhat enjoyed the noble life, I always knew something was missing in my life. I couldn't figure out what it was though.

One day when I was out riding one of the many horses that was given to me by my parents, I came upon an injured man named Dark Romeo. He was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. I brought him into our home, bandage his wounds, and nursed him back to health. During our time while he recovered, he had told me wonderful stories about battles he had fought.

The one that brought him to my land included the slaying of his own evil father. He introduced me to the ways of the palaldin. A new spark was ignited inside of me. I knew I wanted the thrill of a good battle of good vs evil. I approached my parents about it once Romeo was well enough. They were against my new found desire and forbade me to follow in Romeo's footsteps. I was furious since not only did I fall in love with the paladin lifestyle, I had also fallen in love with Romeo, and he with me. So one dark night, Romeo and I ran away to the Napa Valley. There we joined up with his guild The Black Company.

I learned very quickly and soon was fighting monsters I had never imagined I 'd see in flesh and blood. We were very happy and I had a new life and new friends. Until one evening, after years of suspicion, Romeo was overthrown as guild master by his 2nd in command, a man whom he trusted with his life. Over the years, Leo was able to manipulate all (except me) into his way of thinking and challenged everything Romeo had said or did.

Fearing for his life, Romeo expained to me one evening that he would be leaving and heading towards the Lake Superior area. Fearful of Leo's new found power and his ways of finding out secrets, I too, fled for my life, knowing I would be tortured and probably killed for my knowledge and loyalty to Romeo. Upon our arrival to Lake Superior, Romeo and I founded a new guild called the Blademasters Of Superior Steel. All was well in our new home and we had even planned on a wedding. Two weeks after the proposal, Luna was invaded. Against my pleas not to go, Romeo went off one evening as I slept. Determined to make a name for himself and recruit new members to our guild, Dark Romeo was killed.

I was devastated when I went to the bank and saw his kryss and blood stained cloak about to be tossed into a pile of remains of the victims of the Luna bloodbath. I retreated to our home and slipped into quiet mourning. It was only a few days later that I discoverd that Leo had uncovered our whereabouts and was looking for us. Fearful once again of my life, I drew courage from the 3000 diamond wedding band Romeo had given me and fled once again. I returned to my homeland but did not return to my parents. I sought refuge at one of the many Shrines of Britainnia. It was there that I met Field Major Oona. It was there that she introduced me to the Royal Knights. Once again my passion was ignited to protect and uphold the virtues. I knew this was where I was meant to be and I know Romeo would be with me always, protecting me, and guiding my sword.

Even now, I continue to draw strength from the ring and I know my love is with me always.

Journey to Nowhere

Peering into the distance, Rene saw what appeared to be a tall dark man. A sense of dread and fear filled her as she saw a pair of yellow eyes appear. She turned and began to run; branches licked at her face and thighs. When she truned her head to see if the man was following her, she saw now what appeared to be a large wolf-like dog chasing her with the same glowing yellow eyes. Running blindly now through the thick forest, she had no clue which way was the way she had tread to get where she had just left. She could hear something getting closer. She bursted through a group of tress and stumbled into a clearing, only to find that is was encircled with more of that think forest she just escaped from. She readied herself for battle knowing whatever that thing was, would soon burst through. "I have to get back and tell Oona what this is," she thought to herself. The creature bursted through just like she thought and Rene reached for her sword. Fear gripped her heart when she saw that her sword was broken and all that she held was the handle. She looked up just as the creature pounced and knocked her on her back. She struggled against the beast which now she realized was the size of a man but more wolf-like. She shrieked in pain as a set of teeth sank into the flesh of her shoulder.

Rene woke up in a sheet of sweat from her nightmare. Her heart pounding in her head and her chest. Her rapid breathing the only sound in her room. She swung her feet to the floor as she took in a few deep breaths with her head in her hands. She ran her hands through her hair as she raised her head up and peered out towards the balcony, which opened to the Bay of Newcastle. The moon was still reflecting in the still water. Seeing that, she knew that it was only a matter of hours before the sun would be rising from behind the mountains.

Rene crept downstairs and outside to slip into the icy water of the bay to clean up. The dream was all a memory except for the glowing yellow eyes. She finished her early morning bath and crept back inside careful not to wake Isis. She heated some of the green tea Bishimi had given her and return to her floor of the house. Dressed only in her Hakama, she sat on the loveseat on the balcony, looking at the bay, sipping her tea, and thinking.

After some time, well after the tea was gone, Rene got up and went to her desk and wrote a few notes. The most important one was for Isis for Isis would be the only one in communication with her while she was away. The other notes were for Oona and Jae, only to tell her superiors that she was in need of some time away and that should she get into any trouble, she would send her distress bird to one of them. A beautiful red bird that Akasha had trained for her, Fawkes was trained to go to Ren, Oona, and most recently Jae should Rene get into any danger and needed help.

The sun was peeking through the mountains now as the morning songs filled Rene's ears. Rene completed her instruction letter to Isis, cleaned her desk a bit, and went to her room to get dressed. She opened her armoire, pausing slightly over her armor before bypassing it to the drawer where her civilian clothes were kept. She rummaged through the clothes she had not worn since joining with the Knights so many seasons ago, when a familiar dark cloth caught her eye. A gasp caught in her throat as she pulled out Theo's hooded robe that she had found him in. Tears stung her eyes as she lifted the robe to her nose. It smelled faintly of him. She laid it on her bed and slipped out of her Hakama into simple pants and shirt. Theo's robe laid out carefully, her medicine bag, a bag for supplies, and Fawkes all on her bed as she crossed her room to the mirror. She brushed her hair out and left it long. So many years in that ponytail, she never realized how long it had become. She was gazing into the mirror and realized what she was looking at was the image of her mother, complete with saddened gaze. She sighed heavily and gathered her things. She also grabbed her white robe and lantern before slipping downstairs.

Isis had stirred and was now making her way down the stairs when she saw Rene in the kitchen packing a bag of food. There was something different about her as she was not dressing in her usual uniform and there was no sign of the normal bulk from her armor. Rene looked more feminine and very lost in her thoughts. Isis approached carefully as not to startle her out of fear of getting a sword through her abdomen.

Rene turned and faced her cousin. She sat her down at the table and explained to her in detail of her plans. She gave Isis the instruction letter and explained to her that the lantern must not go out unless Isis got word of her death. "The lantern will be my light home," Rene explained.

Rene stood slowly and pulled on her bags. She slipped on her only weapon she would take. Upstairs, the sword display now held an empty slot where her father's sword was under her Sword of Justice that she received after becoming Tucople. She pulled on Theo's robe and looked back at Isis. She smiled weakly and handed her the white robe and lantern. She promptly left and closed the door to Isis' sobs.

Rene walked out into Newcastle on her way to 2 stops before starting her journey. Her first stop was to the Abby. Not wanting to wake the bishop, she crept inside the church and sat in the darkened quiet of the church. She was lost to who she should pray to, so she prayed to whoever would listen, whether it be the many gods that her mother and Akasha believed in, the one that her friends Takashi and Bishimi looked to, or the one God that her father called out to. She also prayed to the virtues to guide her and protect her. She sat there a long time that sweat had beaded on her forehead. Oh how she wished that Micah was awake to give her a blessing and to bless her sword. She sighed and stood to leave. She paused only a moment outside to kiss the flower on Grey's memorial before heading to her next destination.

She paused at Oona's house long enough to leave her note before proceeding to the next building. This was Jae's new house now. She had not seen him for many weeks now and figured it was due to his new duties as Undermarshal. She had missed him. To her surprise, he was asleep on a bedroll on the floor of the newly built house. She crept to him and placed his note next to him. She then bent down and gently kissed his forehead and whispered "your lioness is going away for a bit." A single tear fell from her eye and she cringed when it landed on his cheek. She smiles slightly as she ran her fingers through that odd color of hair of his and quickly got up and left. Just outside his house, Rene touched the amulet all the Knights got from Ren and was enveloped in a blue light. She was instantly in the busy streets of Luna. "City never seems to sleep," she chuckled to herself.

She stood in front of the moongate, sighed heavily, pulled Theo's hood over her head, and stepped through the gate with no clue where she was going.

"Father, be with me."

Finding Herself on Her Way Home

Renenutet looked forward to getting home. She was beat down, broken, and exhausted. She was foolish to ever leave her true family, even though her biological family was all but gone. Riding on Ederix's horse, she tried her best to recall the events of her journey for she knew she would have to give some sort of report or story to her superior and friend Oona. Her excitement soon turned to shame as she recalled all her anti-virturous actions and knew she would be spending a great deal of time with Micah. She only hoped that her actions would not kill the kindly bishop from the shock and disappointment.

The first part of her journey headed her in the direction of her childhood town. She just followed the road, not really paying attention to where she was going, she allowed her feelings to take her where they wished. Soon she stumbled upon an Orc camp just on the outskirts of where she grew up. Spotting an Orc wearing one of her father's shirts and another scratching it's back with her mother's brush, she instantly knew these were the Orcs responsible for her parents' death. Rage grew rapidly inside her as she ducked behind a tree to watch. As dusk arrived, Rene took her anger out on these beasts without a second thought. By morning, she was blood covered though she bore not a scratch or wound of her own. As she walked through the body littered encampment, she looked to the heavens and yelled, "You are avenged! Rest is Peace and watch over me!"

Next she headed towards the Pyrimid of the Osireion Elves. She was shocked and saddened by the sight of a familiar white but waning dragon. She knew Lestat had been heart broken after the murder of Akasha. He retreated here for some unknown reason, and by the looks of it, he had no purpose to continue on. Along her journey, she had run into Thorne, one of Nosfentor's goons. Resisting the urge to bury her sword into his gullet, she spoke with him about her sister. She needed to know that she went out nobly and with respect that she portrayed in life. Once he had advised her the details of her sister's death, Rene was able to rest knowing that her sister did not fight and accepted her fate like a true noble person. She thanked Thorne and allowed him to live another day, but she would reguard him differently in her heart. She sensed that he was not truly the monster that his mistress was. She knew that from Oona and Relder's wedding. But he remains her enemy on the battleground irreguardless of her feelings. Turning back to Lestat, she pulled out a small wooden box. She sat next to the beast, stroking his withered scales and spoke softly to him. She explained that Akasha was at peace and that she would see that Akasha's murderers would be brought to justice, even if it took every breath in her body. She opened the box and held out a very preserved liver to the beast. The Soke had given Rene this after Nosfentor's warrent was issued. Rene had found a few history books that Akasha had wrote for Arren's library about the Osireion elves and their practice of preserving their royalty. She had performed the steps in order to lay to rest the only part of Akasha that she had. She gave Lestat the liver to eat, stating that Akasha would be a part of him forever. As he swallowed the liver and looked down at Rene, Rene looked up at him and said, "I'm so sorry Lestat". With that, she plunged her father's sword deep into the beasts chest repeatedly. He wailed and tried to fight her. She was able to dodge every snap of his jaws due to his weakened state. When he was dead, Rene went to his head and laid her head against his. "Rest in peace with your master, I know that's what you want."

Rene's thoughts were distrupted when Ederix instisted they rest for the night. Against her complaints, he forced her to rest and tried to get her to eat. She did not have the energy to argue with him and did as he asked, although sleep eluded her as her mind continued with her recall of events. She remembered people she had helped, beasts and monsters she had slain, the unexpected swim where she lost half of her food supply to spoilage so to ration the rest, and even the event that put her in such a physical state.

Titan Valley....the name shot pain and fear through Rene's body. Her attempt to secure her inflated ego that she had gotten through her battles along her journey without much injury. She was invincable, or so she thought. Her skills had improved so much since she was a squire. She was teaching the squires after her how to fight. She had taken down a few warriors in the battles she fought for RKR before being taken out of the battle by the blasted mages. Four Titans would be a cake walk! The four Titans quickly grew to six then eight and then the count was lost. Rene was caught completely off guard and began her retreat. Not fully able to see where she was or what was around her mainly because she was too busy trying to stay alive, her footing slipped. Rene was plunged into free fall and landed with a large snapping sound deep into a heavily forested area. She looked up and saw the large cliff she had fallen from and that the Titans seem to be satisfied that the fall would have been enough to kill her. Sighing a huge sigh of relief, Rene attempted to stand. Pain shot through her as she stifled a scream as she grabbed her left leg. She looked down and realized that the snapping sound was not the trees, but her thigh bone. About midway down her leg, the splintered end of her femur poked through the skin. She groaned knowing that this was not improving her situation. She reached for her medicine bag and bandage the best she could. She also tied her father's sword around her leg as support.

Rene had no idea how long she stayed there. She realized after at least a day or two she needed to get out of where she was. Fawkes had discovered her and was looking at her to send him off. "No," she told him, "I can get out of this. It's not that bad." She refused to have Jae, Oona, and god forbid, Scoob come and save her.

Rene began crawling, dragging her left leg. She was clueless on direction so she followed the sound of water. She crawled and crawled and crawled. Time was lost to her now and it was pointless to even try to figure out how long she was gone. Fawkes was constantly at her, pleading with her to send him off. She continued to flatly refuse him. Finally reaching a road, she collapsed from exhaustion and dehydration.

Rene barely woke when she felt someone pick her up. She screamed in pain and tried to swing at the strange person. The man's voice calmly told her he would help her and asked her where she wanted to go and what her name was. Rene's eyes refused to follow her orders to focus on the man. All she could make out was that he was elven. "Renenutet," she whispered weakly, "and I want to go home to Newcastle."

And with that, she passed out. Related Persons:
