Ra'Dian Fl'GithFrom the High Council,
The Desk of Vice Chancellor Jandria Icestorm:

108th Meeting of the High Council
The 108th Meeting of the High Council shall take place today, Monday, August 2, 2004 at 8:00 PM (CST) at the High Council Civic Center in Compassion Grove near Yew. Current items on the agenda are discussion regarding the Society of Shadows, requested audience by Lore Denin regarding the Ministry of Order, and the recent merging of the Last Alliance with the Yew Militia. If you wish to have an item added to the agenda, please contact the Chancellor of the High Council.

Applications for Open Seats Being Taken
The Seats for the Councilors of Minoc, Moonglow, Skara Brae, and Jhelom currently sit open. Applications are currently being accepted for those seats. All candidates shall be required to attend a public debate in the city they chose to represent. A word of note: we are looking for Councilors who will actively interact with the city they are elected to, fostering events, local governments if possible, and otherwise promoting the virtue and city they are elected to. Those who wish to join the Council simply to warm a seat need not apply.

Public Debate Schedule
Moonglow : 11 Aug 04 (Weds) at 8:00 PM (CST) : Lycaeum
Minoc : 18 Aug 04 (Weds) at 8:00 PM (CST) : Golden Pickaxe (Miner's Guild)
Skara Brae : 25 Aug 04 (Weds) at 8:00 PM (CST) : Community Center
Jhelom : 1 Sep 04 (Weds) at 8:00 PM (CST) - Brothers in Arms (NW of the Dueling Pit)

Applications will be accepted for each seat until 6:00 PM (CST) the day of that city's scheduled debate.

News on the Chancellory
Chancellor Fl'Gith has announced that he will be resigning as Chancellor at the 111th Meeting of the High Council (Monday, August 23, 2004). His resignation is not one of a normal sort however, as he stated he will run for the Seat. He is doing this to open the seat to others who may be better suited for the role. Applications will not be taken until he resigns, reducing himself to an Acting Chancellor to the elections (so that the Council may continue to function in the interim), but he asked that this announcement be made so that those in the public who may wish to run for the seat can begin to consider their platform and designs for the role of the Chancellory, as there will be a public debate between candidates to aid the Council in determining the candidate best suited to function as Chancellor.

Historic Old MIB Messages Posted

Nick SeafortLong ago, before the gods began the strange doings known as
localization, when one fished up an SOS bottle, one received a note
which hinted at what had befallen the shipwrecked. Some of these notes
were sad, some were funny, but all hinted at what the fates had
determined for the shipwrecked.

The Fishing Council of Britannia (FCB) is pleased to announce that it
has posted all of the old MIB (SOS) messages. There's a link at the FCB
main page, www.thefcb.com.

We hope veterans read them and smile in remembrance and that more recent
citizens read them and ponder how the world once was.
