Hear ye! Hear ye!
Shadows of the Council proudly presents a role playing faire in Skara Brae on Saturday, May 29, 2004, in the small village of Skara Brae. The fair, led by members of the Shadow of the Council, will have many fun and interesting events. Events will start in Skara Brae and will move to Luna later in the day.
A brief list of times and events follow below: (all times are CST and may possibly change)
4:00 PM -- Story Telling Contest -- Skara Brae Fair Grounds
5:00 PM -- Poetry/Song Contest -- Skara Brae Fair Grounds
6:00 PM -- Archery Contest -- Skara Brae Fair Grounds

8:00 PM -- Auction -- Skara Brae Fair Grounds
9:00 PM -- Player versus Player Tournament -- Luna Bag Ball Arena

Archery Contest (50k and old style practice bow -- top prize)
Dagger Throwing Contest (50k -- top prize)
Player versus Player Tournament (500k -- top prize)

With such a range in events a good time should be had by all so everyone come out to the Shadows of the Council Role Playing Faire on Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Skara Brae.
If you need more information or have any questions please ICQ Avalonia Dupree #175-933-450, Gha’val #46-760-675 or Gilda #258-320-197.
See you all there!

Trinsic Under Attack
Submitted Monday, May 24, 2004 - 12:23:14 AM by Branwen

BranwenShortly after returning from a meeting this evening I was alerted to a crisis in Trinsic. Here is what greeted me upon setting foot into the front gate.

Here are additional etchings that were gathered as the night progressed.

Daemons lay siege to the meeting hall
Blood elementals at the tavern
Paladin Isle under fire by succubi
An ancient wyrm prepares to attack at the south bank
Balrons walk the rooftops

When I finally left to rest and tend to my wounds, golems still blocked both city gates. I had to make a break for it, though I regretted leaving my comrades to their own devices. I will admit that they had it under control but it is only a matter of time until they must rest as well...

Whispering Winds makes an Emergancy Request for Aid
Submitted Friday, May 7, 2004 - 6:24:22 PM by Nick Seafort

Nick SeafortFrom Lore Denin:

The Towne of Whispering Winds has come under attack by a large force of evil mages, Blood Elementals and Balrons. Our local militia is overwhelmed and we request immediate aid from Britannian Armed Forces, The Royal Britannian Guard as well as any able-bodied citizen willing to come to our town's defense.

The evil forces have pressed as far as the fields but the lines held and they were driven back for now. Currently the enemy is holding the position between the Skara docks and the mother tree. However without substantial reinforcements we may not be able to contain these evil forces

We are issuing a local Travel Advisory and ask that all citizens avoid the road between Whispering Winds and the Skara Brae Docks.

Virtue Save Whispering Winds,

Lord Denin

Gathering of Guilds
Submitted Tuesday, May 4, 2004 - 7:12:26 PM by Nick Seafort

Nick SeafortFrom Blackheath:

Are you a guildmaster looking for some new blood to expand your guild? We have good news for you;
The UO Stratics Great Lakes team is hosting the Gathering of Guilds once again!

The Gathering of Guilds is a showcase for guilds wishing to recruit new members; and, of course,
for players to shop around for a guild that fits them well. The event will take place on the
afternoon of Sunday May 16th in Haven between 4 and 6 p.m. Eastern time.

If you would like for your guild to take part in this, signing up is easy! Just send an e-mail to
uogreatlakes@stratics.com
and tell us the following:

Your guild's name and abbreviation

Name of the guildmaster

Which facet you are based on

What you look for in a recruit

A brief* overview of your guild ( e.g.the focus of your guild, RP, PvM, PvP etc., how long you have
been together, your goals as a group, etc.)

Each guild will be assigned a booth where they can meet with other players. We will be preparing a
guide to hand out to players so they will know where to find you.

*Please do be brief: space will be limited in the news for guild profiles. To let potential members
know more in depth about your guild, we suggest preparing books to hand out at your booth.
